How can I have git ignore the root level .vs directory? -


i know git (as of 1.8.2) ignore entire directories (e.g. "bin") @ level using .gitignore file (in root directory) contains like:

bin/

however, doesn't seem work for:

.vs/

is there special syntax directories begin "."?
